Um, so yeah....it's been a while. I'm embarrassed by how long it's been since I've written. But, I have been busy getting the new website up and running. Actually, Amy Westerman has been busy, I've just been saying yes or no. And, while I was doing other things, fall came. The date, not necessarily the temperature. But, even if you're not pulling on your boots yet, you can certainly move into autumn with colors and fabrics.
But this post, I'm featuring a huge trend this season. Which is funny since it's always been around. Plaid. I love plaid. Nothing says fall or back to school like red plaid. Check out these finds....
I can see this with brown or black boots, booties, or tights and flats. Layer a long beige cardigan over it and push up the sleeves or for a more bohemian look throw on a black poncho. Really cute.

Next up, a lesson in sophisticated. As in a really sharp, fine, and....well, I would love to have! This pant is just so great. A different take on plaid using gray with thin navy and marsala (Pantone color of the year no less) stripes. Pair it with a crisp white blouse or this lovely sweater I've shown. I really, really love this. The link goes to the pant shown in black on the website. The store has the charcoal. Lovely. (Excuse my toe)
How about we show a little consignment love?? Because if you really want something you might not see everywhere, try something older but still in style. Right? Both of these pieces are timeless and so on trend. This gray chunky sweater will go with a million things and then look at that brilliant blue! Can't you see this with jeans? Yes, you read the prices right. Click on the picture to take you to Designer Finds facebook page. Friday night lights anyone?
It's not a scarf, it's not a jacket.....it's a poncho! Very on trend at the moment, this plaid poncho will add a certain flair to your outfit. Pair it with boot cut jeans for a boho vibe. Or, go more classic with black pants and a silky white shirt. A warm and functional alternative to a coat.
Then, if you just want to give a little nod of acknowledgement to the plaid look, go big with a bright red and black buffalo plaid scarf. Whether buffalo plaid originated in Maine at the Woolrich Mill or from a Scottish Highlander that migrated to America, it's a been a definite staple throughout the fashion years. You can't go wrong with it, especially this season. You could go even bigger with a wrap size that would look fabulous!
It's officially autumn and unless you're cool natured, some of these looks will be hard to pull off right now. But hang on, it's coming.
Enjoy your fall, the leaves turning, pumpkin everything, and whatever else you love.
Thank you so much for reading. Oh and, this new web host doesn't offer spell check....yikes! Please excuse all grammatical and spelling errors:)
Give me a call if you need anything!
Best,
